Featured Projects
122-MW Wind Project
System modeling & studies conducted in PSS/E, PSCAD, & ETAP. INS supported the client through model quality tests, harmonics, TOV, NERC PRC 019/023/024/025/027, MOD 026/027, and Arc Flash Hazard Study.
110-MW Solar Project
System modeling and studies for a 110MW solar project. Models developed in PSCAD and PSSE compliant with ISO-NE. Studies include power factor study, TOV, harmonic, and NERC PRC 024.
Energy Storage Projects
Energy storage systems modeled in PSCAD, PSSE, and ASPEN compliant with ERCOT. Models tested against ERCOT model quality guidelines. Studies include reactive power and harmonic analysis.
Hybrid Solar-Storage (250 MW)
A 250MW solar farm causing power fluctuations was stabilized with an additional BESS modeled in PSCAD. A WECC-compliant power plant controller (PPC) was designed and tuned to damp oscillations in the hybrid energy system.
Black-Start Study
INS modeled and performed black-start studies in PSCAD for the Alliant Energy project in Wisconsin with four 30 MVA units. Created an effective black-start solution using the minimum number of generators during the restoration process.
